Kuumba Imani Millenium Centre
Kuumba Imani means creativity and faith, which symbolise the aims and ambitions of this centre of excellence in Liverpool. It provides a magnificent resource for the Liverpool Black Sisters organisation, with a wide range of services and facilities for women and families. These include a children's centre with a secure play area, a training room, an IT suite, an advocacy and counselling service, a café/bistro which will provide training in catering, a women's health suite and self contained offices for rent.
Funded partly by the Millennium Commission, the new three storey Centre was procured on a two stage basis. This approach was adopted to take advantage of best value for money issues and techniques bearing in mind the fixed level of funding, special labour requirements and the need to produce a quality building.
